Plaster Repairs and Surface Preparation
Paint shows up every flaw underneath it. That's why preparation is the part of the job we take most seriously. Whether it's hairline cracks in a tenement ceiling, dents left by other trades or damage after a leak, we put it right before we paint.
What we repair
Cracks and settlement lines in walls and ceilings, raked out and filled properly so they're less likely to reappear
Dents, holes and dings from furniture, fixings and everyday life
Water-damaged areas after a leak, once the cause is fixed and the area has dried out, including stain-blocking primers so marks don't bleed through
Damage left by other trades. One customer asked us to fix walls, skirting and door frames left damaged by previous workmen
Old plaster in period properties, repaired and stabilised before painting
Woodwork: filling, sanding and priming skirtings, doors and facings
When it's more than a decorating repair
Large areas of blown or crumbling plaster, structural cracks, or rising and penetrating damp need a plasterer, a builder or a damp specialist first. If we find anything like that, we'll tell you straight away rather than paint over it.
What our customers say
"…did great work fixing up damage to my walls, skirting and door frames left by other tradesmen. He was very punctual and tidied up after himself." (Google review)
"He painted and repaired my windows and touched up the paint in two additional rooms which had suffered from previous water damage." (Google review)

Frequently asked questions
Can you repair cracks before painting?
Yes. Filling cracks is part of our normal preparation. We open up and fill cracks properly rather than just painting over them, then sand and prime so the repair disappears under the new paint. Fine cracks in older buildings can return as the building moves with the seasons, and we'll explain what to expect for your property.
Can you fix and repaint water-damaged walls or ceilings?
Yes, once the leak has been fixed and the area has completely dried out. We repair the damaged plaster, use a stain-blocking primer so water marks don't show through, then repaint to match. If the plaster has become soft or is coming away, it may need a plasterer first, and we'll tell you if that's the case.
How much do plaster repairs cost?
Repairs are set out in your written quote, so you can see exactly what's included. The cost depends on the size of the damaged area, the type of wall, and whether specialist products are needed. Quotes are always free, and we'll show you what we've found and explain the options before starting.
Do you do full replastering?
We handle the decorating repairs that go with painting: filling cracks, patching, skimming small areas and preparing surfaces. Full replastering of whole walls or ceilings is a plasterer's job. If you need it, we'll tell you honestly, and we can do the decorating once the plastering is done and dried.
